How to do dewy no-makeup makeup even during winter

Glowing skin has been trending this whole year, with all makeup trends leaning towards the dewy no-makeup makeup look. Now that winter is here, “cold girl” makeup is in but that doesn’t mean we can’t wear our dewy looks in the cold. In this article, I’m going to give you the best tips to rock the dewy no-makeup makeup look during the winter season

Prep your skin

The cold weather can significantly affect our skin, making it dryer and dull during the season. For this reason, we must make sure we are constantly moisturizing our skins by using hydrating skincare. In your nighttime routine, make sure to incorporate toners, serums and moisturizing masks. Before makeup, use hydrating serums and moisturizers to bring back the moisture into your skin.

Use a skin tint or just concealer

The key to dewy no-makeup makeup is making sure the base still looks like skin and I don’t know about you guys but I hate the feeling of heavy makeup in very cold weather. Therefore, I recommend avoiding heavy foundations and instead, opt for a skin tint or only using concealer to spot conceal, this way you can let the natural glow of your skin show.

Pro tip, use a glowy base such as the SAEI super gel before applying the skin tint or concealer to add more glow and shine to your base.

Highlighter and glitter

For the ultimate wet dewy look, highlighter and glitter will be your new besties. Use a cream highlighter for the higher points of your cheekbones, brow bone, the tip and bridge of your nose and your cupid’s bow. And if you don’t know how to do eyeshadow, don’t worry because glitter is here to save the day. Apply glitter all over your lid and use a powder highlighter for your inner corners, our favorites at the moment are space cowboy by Urban Decay and Cookie by Benefit Cosmetics.

Powder and setting spray

Before applying any powder product, set your face with a dewy setting spray. Next, because we want to keep that dewy wet look, it is better to apply a little bit of loose powder only in the areas where you get oily such as the T zone. The good news is that, because of the cold weather, you don’t have to worry about your makeup melting away.

You can combine all these tips and create a winter version! For example, use a cool tone blush and highlighter to create that “cold girl” effect without sacrificing the dewiness that characterizes summer.
